Hand Smocking

Smocking is a old method of hand stitching which is executed on pleated cloth. The cloth is then stitched with a variety of color threads and patterns. This technique yields many interesting and different effects, including pictures.
Often, but not always used on children's clothing, smocking gives any garment a special touch.
